Dome of the Rock
Today after lunch a group of us went to the Dome of the Rock. This was built by the Muslims on the land where Solomon's Temple was. The Dome of the Rock is built where Abraham was to sacrifice his son. We tried to find our way through the city and entered by the way of the western wall. Many people were standing in line to go to the western wall to pray, we will be going to the Western Wall as a group another day so we went around to wait in the line to enter the Dome of the Rock temple grounds. The Dome of the Rock is only open for tourists a couple of hours during the day when they are not praying. We waiting in line for a long time and finally got into the temple grounds. It was absolutely beautiful! After being on the grounds for a 30 minutes we were asked to leave so that they could pray. We left and then went through the city trying to find things to buy. I have not exchanged money yet so I was just looking and realized I need to work on my bartering skills. Many of the store owners know who the BYU students are. Some of the store owners like to show where the BYU and other students have been.
