Shopping on Sunday...what?

Hey friends! This is deb again! We've definitely had an amazing day. It was sunday so we went out and shopped! We're not sinners! we promise! we actually had church on Shabbat, that is saturday, and so today...sunday...we fondly like to call "unday" its not sunday and its not monday. so its just Unday. Sandy, my aunt who is here with her husband Craig who teaches our religion class, helps the committee who's in charge of our Hummas Hut (the snack bar for us students) so she was taking some of the committee members and invited us along. So, we went! We'd had two classes in the morning. One with a Jew and the other the Muslim who taught us about their respective culture/religion. It was quite amazing and I learned a lot, not the least being, that I really don't know anything. But after four hours of amazing lecture, we needed a break and so we went to the Jewish market. It was saweeet!! We each bought our first items in Jerusalem! i bought some candy for 4 shekels, Jenn bought 5 shekels of dried apricots and Mitchell bought chocolate candy bars. But I just wanted to blow all my 30 shekels and so I also got some granola bars to have "just in case" and some ice cream. It was great! We saw some cool Jamba imitation place and then this great store where birds were sitting on the food and eating it. Yummy! It was really fun, all of it. We also went and stopped by a Palestinian Market and met Balin, who always sells vegetables/fruit to the JC students. His shop is right on the way back from the Old City as we're walking back to the center. He's wearing the BYU Sweatshirt. He's way cool.
Now we're back in the Center and have A TON of homework to do. I don't thinkthat I've ever had this much. Its like having a finals week and then our reward is to go to Egypt next week. Life is good!

Ok Mitchell, you need to be careful with those candy bars, don't ruin all your good work from last semester. :)
